10/10/2022 0 Comments Traffic Counts Continued.Data on US-9 and Adelphia Rd. is in the process of being put into Excel and graphed. This data will be used to simulate traffic conditions in future models of new intersections. Figure 1.2 shows the traffic count for US-9 north and southbound. This data was obtained from NJDOT, and the traffic volume was recorded on Tuesday, September 17, 2022. Figure 1.3 represents the traffic counts obtained on January 26, 2018, from NJDOT for Adelphia Road east and westbound On October 3rd, additional traffic counts were graphed from the intersection of Adelphia Rd. and Halls Mill Rd. using NJDOT (New Jersey Department of Transportation). Figure 1.4 represents the hourly traffic flow from East to West bound on Adelphia Road obtained on January 8, 2019. Using Excel, the current traffic count will be graphed for 15-minute intervals from both intersections, Adelphia Rd. and Halls Mill Rd. this time.

10/3/2022 0 Comments Site VisitOn October 1st the team visited site in order to take pictures of the two intersections and surrounding rounds as shown in Figure 1.1. The team also conducted a 15-minute interval count of the vehicles traveling through the intersections. This count will demonstrate the percentage of vehicles traveling through the intersection making each turn. Knowing this along with the data from the NJDOT traffic counts will allow for synchro to be utilized to create an accurate traffic model.
9/20/2022 0 Comments Traffic CountsTeam members are in the process of compiling data from NJ DOT traffic counts for the US-9 and Halls Mill Rd. intersections on Adelphia Rd., as well as planning a site visit in order to conduct a manual traffic count. This will allow Team members to create an accurate simulation of traffic conditions at various hours throughout the day. This will allow for things such as peak conditions to be known which is vital in allowing the intersection to function properly at its busiest period.
