The intersections between US-9 and Halls Mill Rd. along Adelphia Rd. are a cause for major dysconnectivity in the area. With the highway posing as an imposing barrier to pedestrians in the area, while Halls Mill Rd. serving as yet another. Due to the redesign of Halls Mill Rd. The dam the runs next to the road will also need to be overhauled.

Jack MaesJack Maes is Civil Engineering Senior at The College of New Jersey. In this project, Jack will be redesigning the water resources component by utilizing skills learns from classes such as Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology. He will be redesigning the Halls Mill Road Dam that is in need of replacement due to the planned road realignment. The previous dam's purpose was to control the flow of Burkee's Creek and ensure that the body of water would not be a hazard to the surrounding population. Jack's goal for the project is to design a new dam along the road realignment and to ensure that it serves its purpose for decades to come.

Melissa WencesMelissa Wences is a senior civil engineering major at The College of New Jersey, originally from Honduras. She is interested in the environmental and transportation side of civil engineering upon graduation. In this project, Melissa will use the skills learned throughout the years to help with the redesign of intersections and the safety of pedestrians. In addition to her academic career, Melissa is also part of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and serving in the New Jersey National Guard. Upon graduation, she will commission as a Second Lieutenant into the United States Army as an active-duty officer.

TCRyan McGuire is a senior Civil Engineering Major at The College of New Jersey. Using traffic counts and utilizing the NJDOT Complete Streets program he will redesign the US-9 and Elton Adelphia Rd. intersection prioritizing pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Involved in this will be an implementation of a bike lane on Elton Adelphia Rd. Over the summer of 2022 he interned at Environmental Resolutions Inc. providing aid to inspectors in the field and to an engineer with office work. Ryan is also a member of the TCNJ Varsity Football Team.
